The nation is observing the National Mourning Day and 46th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman today, Sunday (August 15), in a befitting manner with due respect.

Various day-long programs were held at Jahurul Islam Medical College and Hospital to commemorate the 46th martyrdom anniversary and National Mourning Day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of independence and the father of the Bengali nation.

Earlier in the day, a wreath was laid at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. A discussion meeting on the philosophy of Bangabandhu’s personal and political life was held in the seminar room of the college on the occasion of National Mourning Day. The meeting was presided over by the Principal of the College, Prof. Syed Mahmudul Aziz, and the Director of the Hospital, Prof. Bahar Uddin Bhuiyan, who was present as the Chief Guest. 

Jahurul Islam Medical College also provides free medical services in the outpatient department of the hospital. The presence of a large number of patients made this initiative of the hospital a success. 

Moreover,on National Mourning Day, the hospital authorities served improved diet to the hospital admitted patients. Milad and Doa Mahfil were organized on August 15 to seek forgiveness and prayers for the souls of all the martyrs.
