Various day-long programs were celebrated on the 45th martyrdom anniversary and National Mourning Day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of independence and father of the Bengali nation Jahurul Islam Medical College Hospital. Earlier in the day, a wreath was laid at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. A discussion meeting was held on the occasion of National Mourning Day in the seminar room of the college on the philosophy of Bangabandhu’s personal and political life. The meeting was presided over by the director of the hospital, Professor Bahar Bhuiyan. He said in his speech, “Bangabandhu’s dream of a golden Bengal must be realized only if everyone works together to realize it.” He also said that his self-sacrifice would be worthwhile.
